Wedding Photoshoot in Daejeon, South Korea

If it was not for my friend, Katie, I never would have made a trip to South Korea (at least not within the next couple of years). The moment she told me she was getting married, I decided that I was going to go to her wedding and of course be a part of the wedding as much as I could. And that meant making myself present at her wedding photo shoot too. Thank you Katie for letting me share your pictures, most of these pictures are taken by me but I have some of the official proofs to share as well.

Jeju Arumdaum Resort – located near Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak)

I was originally only looking for guesthouses near Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), knowing that we were going to have to wake up super early to go see the sunrise. After  browsing through several websites, we decided to splurge and found this little resort. Our biggest criteria was to have a private room for three girls. […]

South Korea Beauty Product Shopping (Wish) List

Before going to South Korea, I tried to do a little bit of research by finding out more about the myriad of South Korean cosmetic brands etc. but after arriving (and stepping foot into Myeongdong) my research did not feel sufficient. There are just too many different brands and too many products from each. I came home with a suitcase full of new things and yet there are things I wish I got and things I just want more of! Read more for my list!

Chinese Food in Korea: Jjajangmyeon 짜장면

Jajangmyeon (자장면; 짜장면; jjajangmyeon), is a noodle dish topped with a thick sauce made of chunjang (a salty black soybean paste), diced pork and vegetables, and sometimes also seafood. Jajang (alternately spelled jjajang), the name of the sauce, is the Korean pronunciation of the Chinese characters 炸醬, which literally means “fried sauce.” Myeon (also spelled myun) means “noodle”. Kopitiam: Singapore Toast Cafe in Seoul

I studied abroad in Singapore for a year and I came back with a love for Singaporean cuisine. Being in San Diego, I honestly don’t get my fix of Singaporean food (ever). Does anyone know where I can go in Southern California? Anyways, being in Asia (I know, it’s a big continent but I’m getting a […]

Hello Kitty Cafe: Hongdae

We went to the hongdae outlet, but there are several in located in Seoul and in other major South Korean cities. We walked by the another Hello Kitty Cafe in Samcheong-dong but it wasn’t opened at that time (I think that location was cuter).

Cafes and Coffee Shops are Everywhere in South Korea

There is definitely no shortage of coffee in South Korea. There are many areas in Seoul that are known for having streets lined with cute and unique coffee shops / cafes; like Garosugil and Hongdae. I actually considered spending a whole day going to coffee shop/cafe hopping because there were so many I wanted to […]
